Blog #5: Encounter with God

God had been working in your life long before you began to work with him. The Lord knew and saw potentials in you before you did in yourself. God saw in Jeremiah a great prophet for his time “before you came out of the womb I sanctified you, and ordained you as a prophet for the nations” (Jer. 1:5). Before his conversion in Damascus, when he was still full of hatred for the gentile and Jewish Christians, God already saw who Paul can become; “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.” But here is the wonderful thing about God, even though he knew what He wanted for Saul, He waited to reveal it to him until He gained his attention and became Saul’s personal Lord; which simply means a guide, a mentor, or master.

Saul had the encounter with Jesus during his trip to Damascus; Jesus spoke to him and he heard. Saul had an encounter with Jesus and was willing to be led and guided by him from that moment forward. And it was during that weekend encounter that God reveals to Saul the plan and purpose He had been preparing for Paul. God also has been preparing plan and purpose for you, He is not going to figure out what He is going to do with you. He has great plan and purpose for you already. Why don’t you and me take some minutes or a few hours to encounter God this week, to affirm that Jesus is our guide, mentor and master. Find a place and time that you cannot be distracted by other noises. And I am confident He will reveal what you can really become according to His plan for you.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8
